New 1,500-space car park to open 8th December 2007
Date: 7 Dec 2007
There’s great news for Livingston’s Christmas shoppers as the hotly anticipated new car park opens its doors on Saturday 8th December in the town centre.
The new multi-storey car park – located on the site of the former Safeway premises –will provide an additional 1,500 spaces over four levels.
The opening of the car park is just one part of Land Securities’ new £130million development which will also create a modern new shopping centre, reinforcing Livingston’s position as a leading retail destination.
Construction of The Elements – which will span 375,000 sq ft – passed the half way mark earlier this year and completion is expected in October 2008.
Neil Carron, Development Manager, Land Securities, said: “We are delighted to announce the opening of the car park and, as the Christmas rush begins, I am sure that shoppers will welcome the additional provision of spaces.
“This time next year, Christmas shoppers will have even more to get excited about as The Elements will be open for trade and there will be a huge variety of new shops to choose from.”
