Almondvale Delivers Special Bundle of Joy

Date: 20 Mar 2007

Livingston’s Almondvale Shopping Centre made a special delivery to a new mum at St John’s Hospital on Mother’s Day.

For the third consecutive year, the centre honoured its tradition of congratulating the mother of the first baby born on Mothers Day at St John’s Hospital with a well-deserved gift box packed with goodies, such as a baby scrapbook, jewellery and a CD to enjoy.

This year the gift was presented to Alexandra Duff, who lives in Polbeth.  She gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Leah at 3:24am on Sunday.

Marketing Manager at Almondvale Shopping Centre, Jennifer Bruce, said: “Mother’s Day is the perfect opportunity for us to honour the most important women in our lives with gifts and pampering. Almondvale Shopping Centre sends warm wishes all new mothers in the community and we hope that their day was filled with joy.

“A special congratulations goes to Alexandra on the birth of Leah, the first baby born in Livingston on Mother’s Day.”

Bob Anderson, Interim Chairman of NHS Lothian, said:  “Congratulations to new mum Alexandra on the birth of her daughter Leah. Mother’s Day really was a special day for her and her family in many ways. The donation made by Almondvale Shopping Centre is one to be commended; it is a gesture of community spirit.”
